April Discussion Post

Here's a place to discuss the April Book selection "I was a Non-Blonde Cheerleader"-did you love it or hate it? What did it remind you of? Are the sequels something you would consider reading? What else do you have to say?

How amusing - I just finished reading it last night. I'm still forming my thoughts about it 8)

I thought it was formulaic. It was the same new girl/fish out of water story we've read time and time again, without much new or interesting, just a diferent focal point for working out their conflict...in this case, cheerleading. I might read the sequels though. I thought Phoebe's story would probably have been far more interesting to read, in fact.

This is much easier to comment on after I've seen some feedback 8)

It wasn't too formulaic for me, but I'm guessing thats because I never read a whole lot of books intended for teenage girls when I was younger 8}

The odd thing, is that once I got over the 'what am I getting into feeling' and took its merits on its own, I found myself enjoying it. Sure it was simplistic, but I'm not making any assumptions for ya fiction.
